YouTube only accepts videos that less than 15 minutes and we therefore need to cut DVD movies into multiple smaller clips that less than 15 minutes of duration to fit the YouTube limit.
Simply click the Pen icon on the right side of the video to open the editing window. Move to "Trim" tab, set Start time and End time to have the clipping task done; You can also do this by dragging the slider to the exact point.
Step 2: Choose a YouTube suitable format
Frequently, videos posted on YouTube site are in the form of *.flv, or *.mp4, or *.webm. So if you want to convert a DVD video and upload it to YouTube, here we suggest using FLV as it has a good compatibility with older browsers. Added benefits of using the flv format is that it is much more lightweight in bandwidth than the other YouTube readable file formats.
Click Target format on the right side of the video, this will display the format tray on the bottom of the screen, move to "Web Sharing" tab or "Video" tab, and then choose FLV.
You can then easily alter compression rates in the settings after selecting a format, by clicking the Gear icon on the top corner of the format to manage the final video size.
However, The default settings are good enough for online video so we don't really need to fine tune them. you'll be fine if you stick to them.
