How do I Transfer Contacts from Samsung to PC (4 Methods)

Samsung is one of some manufactures who has PC tools for backing up phone data, and it does so in a flexible way. Beyond making a full backup of Samsung Galaxy to PC, it also features in backing up individual files, say, your contacts, to PC.

Download and install Samsung Kies over your PC, then you can transfer contacts from Samsung device to PC just by connecting your device with the help of USB.

  • Plug your Samsung Galaxy into PC. Open Kies on your computer.
  • Find Check for updates in Help, install the latest version of Kies if needed.
  • Click your device in the left column.
  • Select Back up/Restore menu. Then select Backup
  • Tick contacts, you can start a backup by clicking Backup in the right corner of the window.

It's worth pointing out that Kies do not support all Samsung phone so you may probably come across connectivity issues. You'll need to make sure your Samsung device is compatible with this app, and maybe opt to a third-party tool to back up contacts of Samsung Galaxy to PC.

  • Enable USB debugging on your Samsung device.

Use USB to copy contacts from Galaxy to PC

  • Tick Internal storage, then tap Export at the bottom.
  • When exported, tap OK. Your contacts will be stored as a vcf file on your phone.
  • Plug Samsung Galaxy into PC.
  • On computer, locate your device and open it.
  • Find the vcf file, then copy and paste it to your PC.

Transfer Samsung contacts to PC with Gmail

Gmail isn't just about syncing data to cloud, it also has the function to help user back up contacts of Samsung Galaxy on PC. If you have a Google account, you can sync your contacts to Gmail. Then on computer, export data from Google account to computer. Here's how to do it:

  • Navigate to Settings > Account and Backup > Backup and Restore
  • Under Google account section, turn on Back up my data.
  • Log into your Gmail account, choose the contacts you want to download to computer.
  • Click More > Export to save contacts to PC in vCard file.
