How to recover deleted notes on iPhone X

The Notes app inherent in your iPhone X lets you quickly write down any fleeting thoughts that flash through your mind, make a detailed itinerary for your next-month's journey or create a to-do list for project or work. On your notes, you can not only type plain text notes, but add any appealing formatting styles like bulleted and number lists.

If you accidentally deleted notes on iPhone X that you now want to get back, you could undo what you did by the following ways.

Get back the deleted notes from "Recently Deleted" Album

A useful feature called "Recently Deleted" folder is housed on iPhone X to recover the deleted notes instantly. Please notes: the folder will only keep the deleted notes for thirty days. If a period of 30 days has passed, they will be erased for good. To recover notes that are disappeared:

  • Fire up Notes app in iPhone X.
  • Tap "<" symbol on the upper left corner to move back to notes menu.
  • Open Recently Deleted and tap on Edit on top right corner.
  • Tap to select the notes you want to recover and tap Move to... in lower right to choose a folder where you'd like the retrieved notes to live in.

Restoring Deleted iPhone X Notes from iCloud

If you've enable notes syncing with iCloud settings before deleteing the notes, you could now easily restore and get back the lost notes on iPhone X, with the existing notes intact. Just go to Setting > Your Name > iCloud. Under iCloud settings, turn on Notes and all missing notes should show up in Notes app.

If you sync your iPhone X with iTunes on a regular basis, you can always restore the lost notes from the backup on the computer. However, the restored notes on iPhone X are the notes of the last backup. Any deleted notes that were created between the moment of the last backup and the moment of restoration may not be able to be recovered. In addition, you will risk losing more files on iPhone X as the files in the backup will replace all files currently on your device.
