There's no recently deleted notes folder on my iPhone. Can I restore from an Cloud recent backup or somewhere? If so, how do I do these things?

The pre-installed Notes app on your iPhone is one of the most useful app, which makes it easy to keep accurate records of important things such as to-do list, itinerary for the next trip or meeting agenda. However, notes can sometimes slip away from the iPhone.

Accidentally deleted years' worth of notes on iPhone? Or changed a mail account and left your iPhone notes disappeared, or even deleted Notes app by mistake and lose all your notes? I understand how frustrating it can be, but don't fret. For this roundup, we tested how effectively 5 ways recover notes on iPhone, no matter you have them backed up before or not.

Now, we'll guide you step-by-step through each method.

Option 1: Restore recently deleted notes

iPhone includes a folder for recently deleted notes. When you delete a note recently, it just stays in the Recently Deleted album for up to 30 days. You can still view and recover the note before it's removed permanently. This is the simplest way of getting deleted notes back to iPhone.

  • Open the Notes app on iPhone.
  • Tap the < arrow in the upper left corner to view your notes folders.
  • Select Recently Deleted in the folder list.
  • Tap Edit in the upper-right corner
  • Tap the note you want to restore.
  • Tap on Move To... and select the folder you want to move it to.

Tip: If you use another service like Yahoo or Gmail rather than iCloud to keep your notes, check the Trash folder of that account in the Mail app on your iPhone.

Alternatively, you can recover notes that you deleted in the last 30 days on iPhone from iCloud.com with the same Apple ID.

  • In Notes on iCloud.com, select Recently Deleted on the left.
  • Select a note, then click Recover in the toolbar.

Note that if you delete a shared note that you do not own, you won't find and recover it from Recently Deleted folder though. For more information, check links below.

Option 2: Recover deleted notes from iPhone memory (without backup)

If you can't find notes in the recently deleted folder, then probably your notes has been erased permanently from the iPhone. Well fear not, it's not an end of the world. There is still a chance of recovering deleted notes from iPhone something like iOS Data Recovery.

The program scans your iPhone internal memory deeply and thoroughly to track down all recoverable notes and export to a readable HTML file on your computer. It also provides users with another two recovery modes to restore files from iTunes (Finder) and iCloud backup if you made before. More than that, it gives the flexibility to access the content — you can preview the notes that are missing and selectively recover what you want.
