How to Reset ASUS Password in Windows 7 Easily without Losing Data

1. Password Reset Disk

Microsoft Windows has the options for resetting ASUS password to regain access to Windows 7 system. One of the straightforward methods is to use the password reset disk that was made when the PC is accessible.

On the System Recovery Options window, choose Command Prompt and move on.
When command prompt window open, input these two commands in order, and then press Enter after each. Make sure to replace the drive letter of yours.

copy d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe d:\

copy d:\windows\system32\cmd.exe d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe

If prompted with Overwrite question, click Yes.
Remove the disk and restart your computer.
Once ASUS login screen appears, tap Shift key five times to bring out command prompt window.
Type this command now as showed to reset lost password on ASUS in Windows 7: net user myusername mypassword. Substitute myusername for your account's name, and mypassword for your new password.
Close command prompt window and reboot ASUS PC.
Now log onto Windows 7 desktop with new password!
You can reverse the changes you've made by rebooting with installation DVD, opening command prompt window, and running the command:
